Bio Picture of Jenny Chester Counsellor

Jenny Chester

My first training was in nursing – I loved nursing and worked in regional rural areas. I could see that while I could help people with medical care often their emotional and mental health needs were not being met. This took me on a learning journey. Curtin University offered a course for people working in rural areas to understand and help meet the mental health needs of country people. Once I had completed this training, I wanted to understand how families could be helped as a whole unit. I completed my diploma in Family Therapy and Counselling and have been working with families ever since. I have worked for over 17 years within school communities and now work in my own practice providing individual, couple and family therapy. I also provide parent coaching and employee assistance. I use an eclectic approach to counselling to meet my client’s needs.
